Kellogg CIM Week

Last week was my first week at Kellogg, called the CIM week. The Complete Immersion in Management (CIM) is a pre-term orientation week that provides a comprehensive introduction to Kellogg's collaborative culture, the taste of what to expect over the program and the wonderful people that would share a class with you. One of the most hectic weeks in the program, it provides an introduction to Kellogg's facilities, culture, faculty and most importantly, networking and fun events to know your classmates better. One of the best experiences I've had in any educational program so far. Truly justifies my choice of the school :). Looking forward to a roller coaster year ahead...

Wedding

The year 2009 got off to a great start with me meeting my wife, Soumya. Truly love at first sight :) This blog post would not be enough to describe how wonderful a person she is, and how lucky I consider myself for spending the rest of my life with her.

The wedding was a grand affair, with over 2500 people attending. Spending two months in India waiting for my visa (ah the same US visa woes), I am back in the US, and can't wait to see her join me here. A new beginning to a new phase in my life.

Kellogg

One of the best moments of my career - March 11th 2009. I received a phone call from the Director of Admissions confirming my admission into the Kellogg School of Management. It was a dream come true, a moment when the 2 years of planning and hard work paved way for a new opportunity. I look forward to a grueling year and the wonderful experiences and friendships that I would keep for life.

Go Kellogg !!

Back to my Blog

There are times when it gets harder to talk to the people ever so close to you. Times that change your persona. Times that test your patience and endurance. The only thing that lives with you through all these times is the hope, the confidence and the strength to fight it out. While I am a firm believer of luck and power of the almighty, nothing comes close to the strongest desire and the willingness to do whatever it takes to make things happen for us.
My closest friend, philosopher, guide keeps reminding me of a famous SRK one liner - "Jab kuch sache dil se chahte ho, toh saari kayanaat ek hoke use milaane mein jut jaate hain" - (Translation: When you yearn for something with a sincere heart, the forces of the universe unite to make it happen for you).
In these times of extreme hardships, I am sure we are all going through varying degrees of emotional imbalances. Remember that our faith, belief, confidence and emotional strength will never let us down.
Life is a sine wave - every trough has a crest waiting to be seen.

Music

A world of its own... A world of imagination in reality... A world of passion that can invigorate the mind and pacify the soul... A world that can take you to the pinnacle of satisfaction that could best be termed orgasmic...
Mesmerizing you in magical melody that starts right from the first beat of your heart, signaling the beginning of life...
The hypnotic effect immense, the potential unlimited...
The power enough to heal the mind and body...
The potency to control human emotions...
Quoting the famous musician Bombay Jayashri, "Music is created from the heart and moulded by emotion, there can be no joy more impersonal and sublimating than what it offers"

Current Mood: Relaxed in soothing melody

Current Playlist:
Bekhudi - Taxi 9211
Muthumazha - Big B
Abhi Nahi Aana - Sona
Arey Re - Happy Days
My Wish - Rascal Flatts
Tum Se Hi - Jab We Met
Kahan Ho Tum - U Bomsi & Me
Anisuthide Yaako - Mungaru Male
Enthan Vaanamum Neethan - Vaazthugal

Yet another comeback

Its been a very eventful year, a lot of changes since the last appearance on this blog.

Going back to college after basking in the comforts of a stressful work environment, could be very relaxing I guess ;) (Ignore the bundle of contradictions, maybe its a reflection of my persona, you'll get used to it)
After over 2 years in the workforce, business interest is taking me back to school, for an MBA. Back to reading, homeworks, fights for grades (uhhh!!!!....)

Acting is an interesting passion I realised. I staged my first major play as a lead actor and to say the least, it was a very enriching experience. It made me realise that pretending not to be yourself ain't too tough after all ;)

More on the next posts. Time to dream.
